Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Sarajevo begins with construction of embassy building

SARAJEVO, August 6 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to BiH Hani bin Abdullah Mominah together with the owner of Shad Invest, Suleiman Al-Shiddi signed today the Agreement on the Construction of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Saajevo.

The building will be built at Wilson's promenade, on the lot covering 5,000 square meters, and the project's value is 20 million euros.

Ambassador Mominah expressed pleasure with the signed agreement, and said that the construction of the Embassy building is another sign of good cooperation between BiH and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“In cooperation with the Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we are fulfilling the "Vision 2030" plan for each of our embassies in the world to have their own facility that will reflect good cooperation between the host country and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said Ambassador Mominah.

Construction works will last for 20 months, and the Saudi Ambassador expressed hope that the construction will be completed even before the set deadline.

The company Shad Invest, which is part of the Al Shiddi Group, got the project of construction of the embassy building after the announced international tender.

“It will be the largest and most beautiful building not only in BiH but also the region. It will paint the picture of the relationship between the SA Kingdom and BiH,” said Al Shiddi and added that the local companies will be involved in the construction of the facility which has international experience.

The construction of the facility will include contractors from BiH, the construction material will be domestic, except for the material that is not produced in BiH.

This will provide 300 jobs for the citizens of BiH, while several thousand people will be indirectly involved in the construction.

“The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has decided that the workforce should be from BiH, which is a sign of the great interest of the KSA Government for large investments in BiH,” said Al-Shiddi.

The construction of the Embassy building, which will be attractive in design and stylish, will be launched in accordance with the latest world standards, and in line with the environmental provisions, as soon as all the licenses that have already been issued are renewed.
