Lukač: We'll not allow deployment of other police forces in the territory of RS

BANJA LUKA, August 17 (FENA) - The Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska will not allow the deployment of other police forces on the territory of RS without the consent of the RS government, wrote Minister Dragan Lukač today in an open letter.

"An attempt to deploy other police forces in the territory of RS by the State Security Minister Mektić, is another in a series of his unreasonable requests with far-reaching consequences and is a precedent devised by his mentors in Sarajevo, who have charged him to implement everything in order to undermine the competencies of the RS MoI and the territorial integrity of RS," wrote Lukač.

He also pointed out that the RS Ministry of Interior has signed an Agreement on Assistance and Operational Cooperation with the BiH Border Police on the border control.

Lukač concluded his letter stating that in accordance with the RS Constitution and the Law on Police and Internal Affairs, the RS Police is solely in charge of law enforcement and upholding security in the territory of RS, adding that "it will remain so in the future".
