Izetbegović: Annan was big enough of a human to admit to the mistakes

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 19 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović sent on behalf of the Presidency and himself a letter of condolence to the family of recently departed Kofi Annan.

Izetbegović reminded that Kofi Annan, who, according to UN Secretary-General Antony Guterres, is in many ways symbolized the UN, "has been a witness and a participant in the UN's most serious failures and mistakes that led to the genocide in Srebrenica".

His value as a human being to recognize the mistakes committed and to offer his apology have eased the search for truth for the victims of genocide and their families, confirmed by the judgments of international criminal tribunals,” wrote Izetbegović in his letter of condolence, stated the BiH Presidency.
