SARAJEVO, August 22 (FENA) - The suspect Hasan Ružnić was today handed over to the Judicial Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, after which he was transported to Sarajevo where he will be examined by the prosecutor in charge.
Ružnić is a suspect in the case against Atif Dudaković and others charged with crimes against humanity against victims of Serb ethnicity in the course of the operation ‘Sana 95’ in 1995.
The suspect was arrested on the basis of an international arrest warrant issued at the request of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in the territory of Croatia on 29 July, after which he was extradited to the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH is conducting an investigation against the suspect, who is charged with committing crimes against humanity against victims of Serb ethnicity in Bosanski Petrovac, on 15 September 1995, as a member of the Military Police of the 5th Corps of the RBiH Army.
At least 40 victims of Serb ethnicity, civilians and soldiers who previously surrendered, were killed at the site, and the suspect is charged with having personally participated in the shootings and individual killings of the victims.
Hasan Ružnić is one of the total of 17 suspects in the Atif Dudaković and others case, and after his extradition, all suspects are now at disposal to the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
