Bandić added that 607 employees have been employed this year alone, which is more than in the same period last year, and slightly less than in 2016.

When it comes to Slovenia, with which BiH has also an employment agreement signed, from March 2013 to June 30 this year, 26,919 workers from BiH have been employed in that country.

“At the moment, there are about 24,000 workers from BiH in Slovenia. In the past two years, according to the number of ads, welders make up the majority of 23 percent, drivers with 22.8 percent, 6.5 percent of masonry workers, four percent locksmiths, and the rest take up smaller percentage,” Bandić added.

According to him, mediation takes place in a way that employers in Slovenia submit a request for workers to their employment office, and when they fail to find workers in Slovenia, then the BiH Employment Agency is contacted on the basis of the international agreement on employment of BiH citizens in Slovenia.
