Zvizdić: All the stories about migrants are merely political spins

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 7 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić said that the route that Iranians use to enter BiH will have to be cut, because Iranian citizens come to Serbia as tourists and then enter BiH as migrants without documents due to visa-free regime between Serbia and Iran.

“This is a problem which we have presented to the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn and the Serbian institutions.

Serbia abolished visas and entered into visa-free regime with Iran. They have three flights a week, with the tendency to increase it to five flights weekly between Belgrade and Tehran,” explained Zvizdić in a statement for N1 TV.

He noted that the number of migrants has decreased in the past month, saying that the Operational HQ for Migration Issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina has excellently managed the issue.

He also presented information that 12,000 migrants have entered BiH since the beginning of this year and that currently there just above 3,000 of them on the territory of BiH. Zvizdić also explained that they are working on the adaptation of the facilities for accommodation of migrants and stressed that all the stories about migrants in this election campaign period are nothing more than political spins.
