SARAJEVO, September 7 (FENA) - The ‘live’ phase of the exercise ‘Quick Response 2018’ concluded today as the finale was held at Camp Butmir where COMEUFOR, Major General Martin Dorfer presided over a dynamic scenario and demonstration within the grounds of the camp.
The annual exercise "Quick Response 2018", held at Butmir base near Sarajevo, was carried out by members of EUFOR, KFOR, BiH Armed Forces and SIPA.
Today’s exercise was a demonstration of the readiness of the members of the said forces to react in a situation where, as they said, radical elements and terrorists threatened the staff of an international organization in BiH, and included the engagement of helicopters.
EUFOR ALTHEA Mission Commander, Major General Martin Dorfer said after the exercise that the strategic goals of the "Quick Response 2018" were credibility, visibility and cooperation.
“This year, for the first time, the teams from all EU and NATO member states that provide reserve forces for EUFOR participated in the exercise, and our goal was to carry out the exercise in RS, the Federation of BiH and in the Brčko District,” said Dorfer.
He emphasized that the dedication, professionalism and invested effort of all the participants in the exercise have been extraordinary.
Chief of the Joint Staff of the AF of BiH, Senad Mašović said that all the set goals for the execution of the "Quick Response 2018" were fully met.
He added that the BiH Armed Forces in the coming period expects to get a developmental budget that will enable modernization of the Armed Forces of BiH, along with improvement of infrastructure, as well as the standards in the BiH AF.
More than 1,000 EUFOR personnel took part in the "Quick Response 2018" exercise in BiH.
