SARAJEVO, September 12 (FENA) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegović received the credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of Finland to Bosnia and Herzegovina based in Zagreb, Risto Piipponen.
Ambassador Piipponen highlighted good and friendly bilateral relations between the two countries, which have no outstanding issues and have regular contacts at the highest political level.
He stressed that Finland strongly advocates for the EU enlargement policy and in this respect supports Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to full membership in the organization.
Izetbegovic briefed the newly-appointed Ambassador of Finland about the current political situation in the country, with a special emphasis on the country's EU and NATO paths, and expressed expectation that the EU accession talks will begin in the near future.
He thanked Finland for providing expert assistance in the process of European integration, both at the political level and in practical matters, stated the BiH Presidency.
