UNICEF BiH and CRA sign Memorandum on protection of rights of the child in BiH

SARAJEVO, September 13 (FENA) – Two-day regional conference "Children in Media Environment" began in Sarajevo today with signing of Memorandum of Understanding on Protection and Promotion of Rights of the Child in BiH by UNICEF BiH and Communications Regulatory Agency BiH (CRA).

UNICEF representative in BiH Geeta Narayan emphasized that the Memorandum formalized long-year cooperation between these two institutions and defined how to protect and present rights of the child in the media.

She emphasized the aim of the Conference is to gather experts from several countries of the region to exchange experience and knowledge on best ways to protect children in media space and environment, but also to present children's rights in the media.

Director General of CRA BiH Predrag Kovač said that all political parties are using children in pre-election campaign and that CRA will deal with this problem in the upcoming period to protect the children.

Media professionals, experts and practitioners, representatives of UNICEF communication teams from BiH, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia will give their contribution by exchanging experience and knowledge on creating media content in the best interest of the child.
