Chief Prosecutor Tadić meets with representatives of OSCE Monitoring Mission

SARAJEVO, September 13 (FENA) - Acting Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Gordana Tadić met today with representatives of the OSCE Election Monitoring Mission to talk about the upcoming elections and compliance with the legislation and regulations for the electoral process.

Tadić informed the representative of the Election Monitoring Mission - OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Elissavet Karagiannidou that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, within its legal competencies, is also charged with the processing of criminal offenses related to the violation of the electoral process.

Tadić underlined that, within the competencies of this institution, together with law enforcement agencies, they will monitor the entire election process, and sanction and prosecute any possible breaches of the law in this regard.

Participants of the meeting agreed that the BiH institutions and the international community institutions must make joint efforts to fully ensure the legality, the rule of law and the safety of the electoral process in the upcoming elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The OSCE Mission will monitor the upcoming election process in compliance with democratic standards of the OSCE and the BiH legislation in the segments of the legal framework, election administration activities, campaign financing, media coverage and the election campaign itself, stated the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.
