EU Delegation welcomes the adoption of amendments to BiH Criminal Procedure Code

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 17 (FENA) - The European Union Delegation/EUSR issues the following statement, in agreement with the EU Heads of Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina:

"We strongly welcome today’s adoption of the amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) by the BiH House of Representatives, which is aligned with international and European standards.

In a time when the electoral campaign is in full swing, the House of Representatives managed to schedule an urgent session and secure quorum. All present political parties showed political maturity and did the right thing by voting in the favor for the adoption of the amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code at today’s session.

This is of great importance for BiH's further progress on its way towards the EU and essential for the ability of rule of law institutions to conduct sensitive investigations and cooperate with international law enforcement agencies,” stated the EU Delegation to BiH.
