SARAJEVO, September 20 (FENA) - Record progress has been made over the past few years in trade and it all indicates that volume of exchange will reach the goal of a billion dollars next year, it was emphasized at yesterday's meeting of Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović and Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH Haldun Koç, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations stated.
Despite great challenges to the global trade due to fall of value of Turkish lira over the past few months, export from BiH is not endangered.
"Export from our country is recording ongoing increase. Apart from the fact that export from BiH exceeded import for the first time, this year we have had significant increase in export of industrial products," said Minister Šarović.
Foreign trade balance of BiH has significantly improved also due to the fact that Minister Šarovic and his associates managed to secure for export of agricultural products and food, especially flour, to be enormously increased to this country, it was emphasized at the meeting.
Minister Šarović also mentioned the problem of exporting glucose sugar to Turkey, and said they expect this issue to be solved soon.
They both agreed there is increased interest of investors in BiH and that it is necessary to remove the existing obstacles for investments as soon as possible.
