Dodik: I love Russia, but I also want to cooperate with other countries

BANJA LUKA, September 21 (FENA) - RS President Milorad Dodik today dismissed all allegations of the negative Russian influence on this BiH entity.

"We have a common position that the High Representative must leave, as well as foreign judges from the Constitutional Court of BiH, which are chosen and appointed by the West. They must stop interfering with BiH domestic affairs if they want it to function as a sovereign country in the future," Dodik said.

He also said that he belonged to the Serb people whose interests guide him, that he respects and love Russia, but he also wanted to cooperate with all other countries.

"There is an artificially imposed theme of vast antirussian hysteria, which some here also support as they serve these Western interests. When you have the presence of Western military forces here, and there is not a single Russian soldier present, then it is useless to talk about such an influence," Dodik said after the meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

He also claims that "the interfering in the relations within BiH by the United States former administration has been embodied in the character of the US Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack, who has overstepped all the boundaries."

Dodik said that "RS is grateful for the principled position of Russia in affirmation of the Dayton Agreement and for Russia's veto against the adoption of the United Nations Security Council resolution on Srebrenica condemning the genocide in July 1995, proposed by the United Kingdom and supported by the United States of America and the European Union."

"We are proud of what Republika Srpska did in the past, as it did not allow Bosnia and Herzegovina to introduce sanctions on the Russian Federation," he said.

After the meeting in Banja Luka, Dodik and Lavrov spoke about economic cooperation, particularly in the RS oil industry, privatized by Russian partners, on the construction of a gas-fueled plant in Zvornik and the export of fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation.

After the meeting between the Russian and the entity officials, another meeting was held that was attended by Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić, who arrived in Banja Luka in the afternoon to meet with Lavrov.
