Salkić: Many BiH nationals abroad have not received voting materials

FENA Press release

BANJA LUKA, October 2 (FENA) - Vice President of the BiH entity Republika Srpska Ramiz Salkić today warned that many BiH citizens living abroad have not received the voting material for the 2018 General Elections and that they will not be able to exercise their democratic right.

“Many of the BiH nationals living in cities like Copenhagen and Aalborg in Denmark, Gothenburg and Orebro in Sweden, Arnhem in the Netherlands, but also BiH nationals in Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and some other countries, although they did their registration, have not receive voting material for the upcoming elections,” stated the Salkić's office.

He urged the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC BiH) to react and check these allegations and do something to prevent this phenomenon that was present, as he said, in all the electoral processes so far.

“Our citizens want to exercise their democratic right, they register to vote, and then, because of some someone’s wrongdoings, irresponsibility or misuses, they do not even receive the voting material. Such actions deserve investigation and accountability,” he stressed.

It is interesting that no such occurrences have been noticed when it comes to the voters that vote by mail from Serbia or Croatia, "although it is clear to everyone that major misuses of the electoral process are happening, as evidenced by many cases of abuse of citizens' personal information".
