SARAJEVO, October 9 (FENA) - The Social Democratic Party (SDP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina will send a request to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming days for the re-count of the votes, especially in the case of the election of members of the BiH Presidency.
SDP believes that Denis Bećirović, their candidate in the election for that level, has been a victim of electoral theft.
“There are almost100,000 invalid ballots which surely arouses suspicion as well as the result of the SDP in some constituencies,” said the president of the party, Nermin Nikšić, at a press conference in Sarajevo today.
He also noted that the SDP BiH has recorded growth in voter confidence at all levels and will have more mandates than before in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, as well as in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.
He is particularly pleased, as he says, that the civic-oriented parties have done better than before, although the relative winners are the current ruling structures who are now expected to offer a plan on how they intent to exercise power in the future.
“SDP will not participate in the government on the basis of mathematical coalitions, but can only negotiate with those who offer concrete programs to improve the situation in the country, and this will primarily be with partner political parties,” said Nikšić.
