SARAJEVO, October 12 (FENA) - Former High Representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schwarz-Schilling, said that the results of the General Elections held in BiH have shown that there has been manipulation with the votes, and wraned about the fact that there were nine percent of invalid ballots.
“The actual number of such ballots at 3.224 polling stations in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 2,225 polling stations in Republika Srpska is much higher. We have cases where many observers were not even allowed to enter polling stations, and thus they were prevented from exercising their observer mission, Schwarz-Schilling said in a statement commenting the recently held elections in BiH.
He believes that the ruling parties in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH rejected a proposal to introduce electronic voting in the elections in order to leave enough room for electoral manipulation.
Schwarz-Schilling believes that the international community in BiH should have used the opportunities available to them to impose electronic counting of votes, adding that by failing to react, they have made themselves responsible for the absolute ambiguity and uncertainty of the election results.
He also referred to the election for the BiH Presidency members, assessing that such attitude of the voters is positive because, apart from the candidates coming from nationalist parties, Željko Komšić took the victory for the Croat member of the Presidency", who, contrary to HDZ president Dragan Čović and SNSD president Milorad Dodik, does not advocate for ethnic-nationalist politics, but wants to be a president who will serve all BiH citizens."
