Izetbegović in Brussels taking part in EU-Western Balkans conference

BRUSSELS/SARAJEVO, October 16 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović participated today in Brussels in a high-level conference "European Union - Western Balkans: How to Build a Common Future Together".

The conference organizer is the Parliamentary Group of the European People's Party (EPP) in the European Parliament.

The conference was opened by Manfred Weber, EPP Parliamentary Group Leader in the European Parliament, and the final address at the conference came from the EPP President Joseph Daul.

Speaking at the panel entitled "Enhancing socio-economic development through regional connectivity and digital economy", Izetbegović stressed that, in the past four years, after a long period of stagnation and blockades Bosnia and Herzegovina has succeeded in jumpstarting processes on its path to EU integration.

Chairman Izetbegović also spoke about the significance of regional cooperation, emphasizing the unimpeded movement of goods, services and capital, and reflected on the recently completed General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, their results and the need to implement the elections results and form the government.

During his visit to Brussels, Izetbegović also had a meeting with the President of the European People's Party Joseph Daul, stated the BiH Presidency.
