SARAJEVO, October 17 (FENA) - Businesswomen from Sarajevo and Istočno Sarajevo, with support from the OSCE Mission to BiH, gathered at the Women's Entrepreneurship Fair today.
Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Bruce Berton said at the opening ceremony that the fair gathered 30 female entrepreneurs who came to present their products and services, and that this is also an opportunity for them to connect with each other and with other companies and exchange their experiences.
Fair will be opened until 4 p.m. at the UNITIC Business Center in Sarajevo today and visitors will be able to buy organic and domestic products and various handicrafts.
"Here you can see diverse palette of products, from food, jewelry, clothes to artworks. We will also have an opportunity to hear opinions and ideas of successful female entrepreneurs on how to start and develop a business. These female entrepreneurs did not come here just to sell their products, but also to increase economic opportunities for participation of women in their communities. This is a very important gathering for the OSCE Mission to BiH, and we will continue organizing series of similar meetings and events with our office in Sarajevo," said Berton.
Dženita Zirdum, president of the Regional Association of Female Entrepreneurs "Business Woman" said that one of the missions of this association is to empower women and help them register their companies.
"The main problem with female entrepreneurship on this level is that they cannot register their companies, that they are not able to get a loan because the property is registered to someone else's name. Women need to support in this stage, when they are making their products but still have not placed them on the market," emphasized Zirdum.
