BH Gas gets support for financing concept for South Interconnection project

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, October 19 (FENA) - Head office of the EBRD in London approved the financing concept for the South Interconnection Project of BiH and the Republic of Croatia, which includes the construction of the Zagvozd-Posušje-Novi Travnik / Travnik gas pipeline, with an extension for Mostar.

Cooperation between BH-Gas and EBRD has been ongoing since 2010 with the approval of the loan arrangement for the Zenica-Travnik gas pipeline, and on the basis of the good cooperation so far, the financing of this project has begun, including the issuing of grant funds in cooperation with the EBRD and USAID, announced the BH Gas.

This approval came after the Comprehensive Cost and Benefit Analysis (CBA), as well as the due diligence of the BH-Gas, which confirmed the full justification of the project.

For the development of the Comprehensive Cost and Benefit Analysis, BH-Gas received a grant of 141,000 euros from the European Union through the CONNECTA program.

In the meantime, additional grant funds in the amount of 500,000 USD have been prepared for the Environmental Impact Study and 1,000,000 euros for the development of the Preliminary Project by USAID and the EU through the CONNECTA program.
