SARAJEVO, December 7 (FENA) - Veterinary Faculty of the University in Sarajevo and Veterinary Research Institute in Lanzhou within the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences signed an Agreement on International Cooperation at the Chancellor's Office of the University in Sarajevo today.
Agreement was signed by the dean of Veterinary Faculty prof. dr. Nihad Fejzić and Director General of the Veterinary Research Veterinary Institute in Lanzhou Hong Yin, and it envisions cooperation which will include promotion of exchange of knowledge and expertise, projects of common interest in area of food safety and infectious disease, participation in scientific gatherings, workshops with joint research results, and support to international animal and animal product trade.
Fejzić said it is an agreement on veterinary scientific cooperation between Veterinary Faculty of the University in Sarajevo with the biggest veterinary research institute in China.
"All activities are implemented under patronage of 16+1 initiative with the aim of making our institute a reference research center for veterinary medicine, not only for BiH, but also for 16 countries within the initiative," said Fejzić.
Center for veterinary research with special focus on infectious diseases will be established in BiH, "One Health" program, within the 16+1 program.
Signing ceremony was attended by Ambassador of PR China to BiH Chen Bo, Director of Food Safety Agency of BiH Džemil Hajrić, representatives of the Veterinary Faculty and delegation of the Veterinary Research Institute in Lanzhou, UNSA stated.
