SARAJEVO, December 7 (FENA) - The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina organized today a program for Sarajevo pupils based on dialogue and debate on diversity, as well as cultural diplomacy, marking the end of the Italian presidency of the OSCE.

The hosts pointed out that a number of events were organized during the past year, having in mind the priorities of the Mission, as well as Italy as the presiding country, all towards the goal of ensuring a better future for BiH citizens, highlighting fight against corruption, ensuring the rule of law and establishing dialogue.

Italy assisted the OSCE in publishing a report titled "Two Schools under One Roof", but also in the financing of a corruption-fighting project implemented with the aim of establishing better coordination between different levels of government in charge of fighting corruption.

Head of the OSCE Mission, Ambassador Bruce Berton recalled that a media freedom meeting was also organized this year when they honored three Italian journalists who reported from BiH during the war and discussed how to achieve media freedoms and personal security of journalists.

Berton also referred to the work of the judiciary, stressing that it is most important to work on securing justice and revealing the truth for the sake of war crimes victims, but at the moment, it is necessary for the BiH Council of Ministers to adopt a revised State War Crimes Prosecution Strategy.

The document specifies that all war crimes cases are to be prosecuted by 2023, but it also offers greater insight into war crimes trials. Berton also noted that courts at the local level have shown the ability to prosecute less complicated cases.

Italian Ambassador to BiH Nicola Minasi said that it is important for Italy to work on ensuring dialogue in all segments of society, assessing that it is difficult to achieve any results without regard to the area of justice, corruption or education.

Two documentary films were screened, "Pistoletto a Sarajevo" that sšeaks about the arrival of artist Michelangelo Pistoletto in Sarajevo when his lectures were attended by 500 young people from all over the country, and "Maglaj - War and Peace".

The Republic of Slovakia will take over the presidency of the OSCE in early 2019.
