The building for the Ars Aevi Museum to be located near the National Museum

SARAJEVO, December 9 (FENA) - After 25 years, the City of Sarajevo has revived the "Ars Aevi" project and the construction of the Museum of Contemporary Art, where one of the most valuable European collections of modern art will finally get its permanent accommodation.

Earlier, with the founding of the Public Institution of the Museum of Contemporary Art 'Ars Aevi', the City of Sarajevo has provided institutional support to the initiative for Sarajevo to finally gets this museum.

"At one of the previous sessions of the City Council, the councilors supported the proposal that the lot on which the museum will be built be exempt from the  construction ban, making an important step towards the realization of one of the largest cultural projects in the post-war BiH," FENA learned from the administration of the City of Sarajevo.

They pointed out that the next phase is to prepare the request for the issuance of the urban planning building permit in cooperation with the Sarajevo Canton.

The Museum of Contemporary Art will be built near the buildings of History and National Museums, which would give Sarajevo a unique museum complex area.

The beginning of the construction of this facility is planned until the end of the mandate of this city administration.
