BIHAĆ, December 10 (FENA) - The City of Bihać and the Government of Switzerland have provided 60,000 KM for the development of tourism in rural areas of Bihać region within the project of ecological and economic management – the MEG project, implemented by the United Nations Development Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH).

Agreements with the Mayor of Bihać were signed by 12 applicants, who will receive 5,000 KM of incentive funds.

“Within the framework of the MEG project, we are working to maximize the assistance to our tourism workers, especially in suburban areas. These are not small amounts and I really hope that they will help them improve their businesses, provide some savings or help them create new jobs, which is our common goal,” said Bihać Mayor Šuhret Fazlić.

Owner of a rural household in Kulen Vakuf, Lejla Musić, stressed the importance of such incentives for her business.

Apart from the fact that these incentives seek to improve the offer in already registered rural households, it will facilitate opening of new ones and secure new jobs, support the return or the retention of the population in rural areas.
