SARAJEVO, December 11 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency Member Šefik Džaferović said today that the removal of the BiH flag is a violation of the state and that he would never agree to such a thing.
Džaferović made a statement to reporters after the BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik canceled the scheduled consultations with parliamentary parties today on the awarding of a mandate for the composition of the new Council of Ministers of BiH.
“Yesterday, Dodik’s office sent a request to my office to remove the BiH flag from the meeting room. Obviously, I did not accept such a request and I will never accept it. We are the collective head of the state of BiH and the removal of the flag of BiH from the place where the Presidency is in session is a violation of the state of BiH,” said Džaferović.
He added that today he received a request that, if that is not possible, then in addition to the existing flag, Dodik wants to bring the flag of Republika Srpska to the hall, which, as Džaferović pointed out, was also unacceptable.
“This is a state institution and only one flag can be in these premises - the flag of BiH. After Dodik canceled today's consultations, he asked in writing, without consulting me, that the political parties provide names to him for the chairman designate tomorrow, by 10 a.m.,” Džaferović further explained.
He said that a session of the Presidency of BiH has been scheduled for tomorrow in the same room, pointing out that it should be held in a manner, in the ambience and circumstances, as all the sessions have been held so far in the past.
“There will be no changes introduced in this hall as far as flags are concerned, and as far as I am concerned, this will not be possible, because any such change would mean violation of the law on state flag, which is ultimately a violation against the state of BiH, which I will never agree to,” stressed Džaferović.
