City Mind Lab, within "Smart Sarajevo" initiative, officially starts working

SARAJEVO, December 12 (FENA) - City of Sarajevo and the UN Development Program (UNDP) officially released the City Mind Lab at the City Hall today, which will gather prominent and inspiring fellow citizens and experts in different areas.

Leader of the "Smart Sarajevo" UNDP initiative Marina Dimova said that vision of Sarajevo cannot be imagined without participation of the citizens.

"Initiative has the aim to test innovative tools for interactive urban planning, smart solutions in public services which will improve quality of life and simulate modernization of urban processes through new technologies," said Dimova.

She emphasized that the group will design and propose innovative ideas and solutions, which will be basis for implementation of "Sarajevo Smart City" project.

Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka stated that establishing of this body gives an opportunity for the City to activate the enormous potential it has.

Pilot initiative, which is funded by UNDP, has the aim to open a dialogue between citizens, government representatives, academic community and private sector about the future of development of smart Sarajevo, and test innovative solutions for digital urban planning, improving public services by using new technologies, as well as the so called "smart" urban business activities.
