SARAJEVO, December 14 (FENA) - A new internet platform that aims to improve the work and reduce the potential for misuses in the non-governmental sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the web portal "eKonsultacije", was presented today in Sarajevo.

The website for the platform is https://ekonsultacije.gov.ba

Within the platform, a comprehensive register of associations and foundations of BiH (http://zbirniregistri.gov.ba) and the eRegistar of associations and foundations under the Ministry of Justice of BiH (http://registrinvo.gov.ba) were also presented.

The BiH Justice Minister Josip Grubeša explained that it is possible to register an association or foundation in BiH with 18 different institutions and that three people can register one and the same organization at 18 different addresses, which is why BiH found itself the gray list of Moneywal – FATF for money laundering and financing terrorism.

“This has given room for various misuses through NGOs, and such a registry will minimize possible misuses in the work of the non-governmental sector,” said Grubeša.

Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, said that the consultation platform for the public and non-governmental sector includes two registry offices of non-governmental organizations that will be useful for the stakeholders all involved.

He added that the use of modern technologies for communication and consultation should improve the position of the non-governmental sector, as they claim at the moment not to be sufficiently represented in policy making processes.

The web portal "eKonsultacije" has been created within the project "Strengthening the capacity of government institutions for participation in political dialogue with civil society" (CBGI).

This platform will enable timely information and consultations for citizens and representatives of civil society organizations and thus facilitate their participation in the creation of public policies.

In addition to representatives of state institutions, the presentation was also attended by representatives of civil society organizations in BiH.
