SDA: CEC’s decision unconstitutional, we will launch an appeal before CC of BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, December 18 (FENA) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) firmly believes that the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) on the appointment of the delegates to the FBiH Parliament’s House of Peoples is unconstitutional in the part in which it was decided to use the 2013 census for the distribution of the mandates.

The SDA considers that the CEC was obliged to respect the FBiH Constitution, according to which the Census from 1991 must be applied until the final implementation of Annex VII of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“We consider today's decision of the CEC to be political, not professional,” stressed the SDA.

Therefore, through its authorized appellants, the SDA will initiate a request for review of the constitutionality of the CEC’s decision before the Constitutional Court of BiH, announced the SDA.
