SARAJEVO, January 9 (FENA) - The FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić presented to the deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's extraordinary session the proposal of this year's budget, stating that the government is continuing with restrictive budget policies.

“This is reflected in the salary for December 2018, where there were 6.764 civil servants in total, and the budget has been planned to cover 7.290 employees,” Novalić said, pointing out the most significant items in the budget of the Federation of BiH for 2019, proposed in the amount of KM 2,653,843,356 KM.

The amount is 11 percent less or 335.8 million KM compared to the last year's budget.

Gross salaries and allowances based on regular work are planned on the basis of the Law on salaries and fees in the institutions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Law on salaries and remunerations of police officers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 7,294 employees with the basis for calculation of salary in the amount of 330,00 KM , which will enter force when the budget of the Federation of BiH for the year 2019 is finally adopted.

The total planned funds for this item amount to 204.7 million KM, which is an increase in the amount of 14.4 million KM or 8 percent compared to the amount in the budget of the Federation of BiH for 2018.

On the revenue side of the budget, the focus will be on creating a more favorable business environment through lowering labor costs, easing the economy through restructuring of the tax system, reducing tax debt, and increasing the discipline of taxpayers, which would ultimately, as Novalić added, also reflect on the increase in the collection of indirect and direct taxes.
