SARAJEVO, January 10 (FENA) - The House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at last night’s session approved the Proposal of this year's budget of the Federation of BiH in the amount of 2,653,843,356 KM.
The amount is lesser by 335.8 million KM or 11 percent than last year's budget.
Fifty-eight MPs voted for the budget, and these are from SDA, HDZ-HNS, SBB, PDA, A-SDA, HDZ 1990 and Labor Party.
Twenty-five MPs, namely from SDP, Our Party and the Democratic Front, voted against, while the MPs from People and Justice Party and part of the Independent Bloc, abstained.
In order to come into force, the budget has to be supported by the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament.
During the lengthy debate, a total of 87 amendments were proposed, which the Government of the Federation of BiH rejected.
“We have adopted a conclusion that MPs adopt the Bill on Support for Families with Children, which will allow for the co-financing of benefits for unemployed mothers,” said FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić.
In addition, by majority of votes, a conclusion of the SBB caucus was adopted, requesting that the Government plans a rebalance in the amount of two million KM for the development of defense industry in the Una-Sana Canton.
In his address, Novalić confirmed yesterday that the Government remains committed to continuing the activities on co-financing of projects for the establishment of industrial zones in local self-government units, where good results so far have been recorded, therefore, 4.5 million KM has been planned for that purpose.
