SARAJEVO, January 16 (FENA) - It is high time to face our objective reality, both the social one but also the spiritual, and especially demographic, in the context of the difficult economic situation in BiH. All of those things are the consequences of unhealthy and inadequate relations of the authorities towards their citizens and peoples, said today Metropolitan of Dabar-Bosna Hrizostom at Christmas and New Year reception that he hosted in Sarajevo.
He wished a successful and blessed the New Year 2019 to all the dignitaries, representatives of the Islamic Community, the Catholic Church, the Jewish Community, Hussein effendi Kavazović, Bishop Pero Sudar, Jakob Finci, Apostolic Nuncio in BiH Luigi Pezzuto, and representatives of all levels of government in BiH, the international community, diplomatic corps in BiH and the academic community.
"Only peace and good will among the people, primarily among our own people, can change this, not so nice picture of our difficult and painful situation at this moment," said Metropolitan Hrizostom.
He called on all those responsible in BiH to work together to change the situation in BiH, and that tit would disappointing and discouraging if this idea does not receive a concrete and positive reaction and from the responsible structures, primarily political ones, at the state, entity, cantonal and local levels.
Hrizostom urged everyone to leave the past to historians and to look towards a better present and a happier future, and to do everything "to make this country a country of happiness and joy for all its citizens and peoples."
“We need to cherish our dignity and the dignity of others. It is a guarantee of every healthy society, of every community. Let us give back their identity, their rights to every single person, give dignity and freedom to everyone that they truly are by their nature, by their spiritual and ethnic belonging,” said Hrizostom in his Christmas message at today’s reception.
