Foreign Minister Crnadak in an official visit to Republic of Lebanon

SARAJEVO, January 17 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak is in an official visit to the Republic of Lebanon on January 16 and 17.

Foreign Minister Crnadak met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration of Lebanon, Gebran Bassil.

The two officials discussed the development and improvement of relations between the two countries, economic cooperation, as well as issues of international importance.

He pointed out the interest of our country for investments from Lebanon in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that BiH's position allows Lebanese businesses and investors an access to the European market.

It was pointed out that the Lebanese side is interested in the capacities of BiH in the fields of metal and wood industry, and the possibility of exporting food products, especially nuts and olive oil to the BiH market.

Minister Crnadak also emphasized that there is a possibility for tourism development since there has been an increase in the arrival of tourists from Lebanon to BiH, especially pilgrims to Međugorje, and also highlighted the capacities of BiH when it comes to winter tourism.

Crnadak and Bassil initiated the talks on the possibility of signing the visa abolishment agreement for holders of diplomatic travel documents, and discussed the possibilities of visa liberalization for holders of ordinary passports.

One of the topics of the meeting were also the issues of security and the fight against terrorism, the situation in the Middle East, North Africa, as well as other current, international issues.

Minister Crnadak invited Minister Bassil to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina by the end of the year, together with a delegation from the business community of Lebanon, and to hold a Business Forum devoted to the improvement of economic relations between Lebanon and BiH.

During the official visit to Lebanon, Minister Crnadak visited the Honorary Consulate of BiH in Beirut, and today he will also meet with President of the Republic of Lebanon Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
