SARAJEVO, January 17 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bosnia and Herzegovina Reinout Vos said today that he shares the belief that the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
“We believe that the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU and NATO,” said Ambassador Vos in a statement to FENA, commenting on the question of activating the NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP), adoption of the first Annual National Program and, in general, the priorities of the EU and NATO path of BiH.
He underlined that the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on Bosnia and Herzegovina to adopt the Annual National Program, which is an important step in the expansion of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and NATO.
“We know that there are ongoing debates, but we believe that Bosnia and Herzegovina will very soon be in capacity to submit its annual national program,” underlined Vos.
He also recalled that the Netherlands has been a member from the very establishment of the Alliance and that it is a part of its 'security umbrella', expressing the belief that Bosnia and Herzegovina would soon become its fulltime member.
