SREBRENICA, January 20 (FENA) - Book "Surviving Srebrenica“ by Hasan Hasanović, which was published in 2016 in English language in which the author testifies about all horrors of Srebrenica Golgotha he survived and in which he lost his twin brother and father, was recently translated into Italian language thanks to professor at "Maffei“ grammar school in Verona Cristina Antonini, who worked on this translation with her students.
Hasanović, who is also a custodian of Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center, will promote his book in Italy next week, where he was invited by professor Cristina Antonini.
“It is very important the Italian audience learns about genocide that took place in Srebrenica. During their visit to the Memorial Center, I noticed Italians are very interested in learning about events from the previous war,” Hasanović told FENA.
He wishes to inform as many people as possible about the genocide and believes we should spread it across the world so Srebrenica never happens to anyone else again.
“Apart from English and Italian, book 'Surviving Srebrenica' is currently being translated in Dutch and Arabic”, said Hasanović.
He also announced a second book "Osuđen na sjećanje“ (Doomed to Remember), in which he will also talk about historic facts, facing the past and genocide denial.
“I want to give readers an accurate image about genocide. We survived to spread the truth. That is my life. It is very important we keep the memory alive. I cannot understand that Srebrenica is only focus on July 11, when it should be the entire year,” underlined Hasanović.
He had an opportunity to speak about genocide in Srebrenica at U.S. universities on several occasions.
