SARAJEVO, February 4 (FENA) - The project of improving education of judges and prosecutors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, presented today in Sarajevo, is a continuation of the successful cooperation of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Training Centers (CEST) in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska with the Academy for Judicial Education of the Netherlands, with the financial support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy in BiH.
The meeting held today was organized in order to present the current situation and needs in the field of education of judges and prosecutors and the content of the project based on needs assessment, elaboration of the situation analysis and development of the e-module.
Director of CEST FBiH Arben Murtezić said that the project has several components and that one of these is the basics of Civil law and the education of our educators in the future to conduct training in Civil law.
“The project is worth 90,000 euros, secured by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the education itself provided by the academy from the Netherlands is of far greater importance.
Distance learning itself is sometimes even more successful than live training, because people are more relaxed and more willing to ask questions,” said Murtezić.
Remco van Tooren from the Netherlands Judicial Academy pointed out that what they are trying to do with this project is to carefully analyze the needs of the institutions dealing with the preparation of judges and prosecutors, and what they need in order to give immediate positive results.
