SARAJEVO, February 10 (FENA) - The Social Democrat Party of BiH (SDP), after almost 12 hours in session, has decided to go into the opposition, that is, it has reached a decision not to start negotiations with nationalist parties on the formation of power at the state level and the Federation of BiH.
61 delegates voted against the coalition, 31 of them for the coalition, while six abstained.
After the session, SDP President Nermin Nikšić read the conclusions, stating that the Main Board decided that the SDP would not go into coalition with the nationalist parties - the SDA, the HDZ BiH, and the SNSD.
"The SDP's main board believes that the SDA has destroyed any possibility of the SDP's joining the coalition at the state and FBiH level with their support for the election of HDZ and SNSD delegates to the House of Peoples in the Federation of BiH and the state level, thus allowing them the absolute control and an opportunity to block all the positive processes in BiH. SDP Main Board believes that the SDA has played a double-sided game, on one hand, inviting SDP and BH Bloc to join the government as if to protect the state, and at the same time they have seized every opportunity to strengthen the position of HDZ and SNSD," said Nikšić.
The SDP BiH, through its representatives at all levels, will affirm and support BiH's path to the EU and the NATO, equality of citizens and peoples on the entire territory of BiH, and economic and social reforms.
The Main Board charged the party presidency to initiate the formalization of the BH bloc, as well as the unification of left-wing political parties.
