SARAJEVO, February 18 (FENA) - Leaders of the HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, SDA, Bakir Izetbegović and SNSD, Milorad Dodik held a meeting in Sarajevo today to discuss establishing power at the state level.
Čović assessed the meeting, which was held in the building of the BiH Presidency, as great progress.
“The talks have begun and I think there will be more occasions for similar talks in the next two, three days. We are looking for solutions, moving forward. I believe that the Council of Ministers of BiH will be formed soon,” said Ćović.
Dodik said that the meeting was informal and that nothing specific has been agreed.
He assessed that there is no particular obstacle against the Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers being appointed from the ranks of the Serb people.
Dodik said that more than 400 people have been employed in the BiH institutions after the October elections, that this is unacceptable and that this must be discussed in the coming days.
The SDA leader Bakir Izetbegovoć said that today's meeting has produced no results so far, but that a good atmosphere shows that an agreement could be reached on the BiH Council of Ministers.
“We talked about priorities, the country’s progress, the position of Croats and Bosniaks in RS, and the position of Serbs in the Federation of BiH,” Izetbegović said.
He added that the meeting with other parties should be held by the end of the week, and that he expects cooperation with them "since the BH Bloc has excluded itself from the government formation process.”
