BiH CoM - Export to the EU increases by over ten percent

SARAJEVO, March 12 (FENA) - Council of Ministers of BiH adopted Analysis of the Foreign Trade Exchange of BiH for 2018, which states that main characteristics in 2018 were increase of total foreign trade exchange and increase of export.

Total exchange of BiH was 31.17 billion KM in 2018, of which 11.9 billion KM was the value of exported goods and 19.27 billion KM of imported goods and foreign trade deficit was 7.37 billion KM.

European Union continues being the main foreign trade partner of BiH, participating with 65.3 percent in the total exchange, followed by CEFTA countries. Growth of 7.4 percent of total exchange with the EU was recorded compared to the previous year.

Export to the EU was 73 percent of the total BiH export in 2018 and it increased by 10.3 percent and import by 5.3 percent. Trade deficit with the EU countries decreased by 7.1 percent.
