SARAJEVO, March 13 (FENA) - A delegate of the Croat caucus in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko Miletić (Democratic Front) expressed his dismay and disappointment because his initiative for this House to condemn the gathering of the Chetnik Movement members and supporters in Višegrad was rejected today.

“The House of Peoples, in accordance with its constitutional jurisdiction, was obliged to condemn such an event. I tried not to use any ugly words but only to provide a legal qualification of what happened in Višegrad,” he added.

Miletić believes that the persons who participated in that gathering committed the criminal offense under Article 145 of the BiH Criminal Code because they publicly evoked religious, racial and ethnic in a public place, which in itself deserves special attention.

He expressed his view of the entire incident in particular, bearing in mind that BiH has had numerous experiences with such events and security challenges, and he assessed that this was probably and unfortunately only one in a series of such events, neither the last nor the first.

“We have missed on the opportunity to condemn this act together with international officials, ambassadors and European parliamentarians. It is embarrassing for us that we have not spoken a word about it and that what happened in Višegrad has not been called by its true name. It was an act of fascism. Period.” said Miletić after the session of the House of Peoples of the BiH PA.

All the delegates in the Serb caucus voted against Miletić's initiative, four of them from the Association of Independent Social Democrats (Dušanka Majkić, Sredoje Nović, Nikola Špirić and Lazar Prodanović) and Mladen Bosić from the Serb Democratic Party (SDS).

Three delegates of the Croat caucus also voted against condemning the events in Višegrad - all three from the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) BiH Lidija Bradara, Bariša Čolak and Dragan Čović, while Marina Pendeš, also from HDZ BiH, did not attend the session.
