BIHAĆ, March 22 (FENA) - Tourism clusters UNASANA and Lika Destination signed a Cooperation Agreement in the framework of the panel on "Potentials and risks of tourism in protected areas" held in Bihać, focusing on the quality of services based on local, authentic experiences and knowledge that is to be used for preserving cultural heritage, the traditional way of life and the traditional use of space.
“The agreement will allow us further development and new projects, since the Lika Destination Cluster is a few steps ahead of us. Just to mention that they operate in seven protected areas and have developed "Lika Quality" brand, which creates the preconditions for establishing a regional quality system, and this is something that we aim to establish with our UNASANA brand. We will definitely be busy in the next two years and we have excellent partners for this,” said the director of the UNASANA Tourism Cluster Zrinka Delić.
The UNASANA and Lika Destination clusters operate in five national parks in two countries, making these destinations a unique ring of protected areas in Europe.
“We started our cooperation last year, and this agreement has only formalized it. We are dealing with similar things and we have almost the same goals, so we have the opportunity to work together and learn from each other. We are already implementing the project of branding Lika as a destination of protected natural areas and a gastronomy destination, so this experience will certainly be of good use to our colleagues in UNASANA Cluster," pointed out the Manager of the Lika Destination Tourism Cluster Petra Butković.
During the panel discussion, cluster representatives promoted other successful examples of tourism development in protected areas from the region, and the event was attended by with representatives of the competent ministries, protected area managers and representatives of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), from Croatia and BiH.
