ZENICA, March 27 (FENA) - The Assembly of the Zenica-Doboj Canton confirmed the appointment of Mirza Ganić from Visoko, the candidate of the SDA, as the new cantonal prime minister and the composition of the entire cantonal government, which took its solemn oath today.
The government and Prime Minister Ganic received supported of 20 MPs, 13 were opposed and two abstained.
In his address to the MPs, Ganić outlined the directions of the new convocation of the cantonal government and announced that their aim is to maintain the leadership position of that canton as far as the export industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina is concerned.
He emphasized that the ZDC needs efficient institutions with competent people. Also, like the previous government, he said that he wants to work to make this canton a prospective European region from which citizens will not have to go abroad for a better life.
An MP of SDP BiH, Vedran Keser disagreed with this composition of the ZDC government and asked "what can be described as nepotism, moreover, the institutional one, if not the composition of the new ZDC government?”
"I have nothing against young people, but someone's first work experience ever cannot be a minister in a government," stressed Keser, adding that he comes of Tešanj, which is highly productive, industrial and business community, but that it is interesting that there isnt’s a single minister in this government that comes from that town.
