EAST SARAJEVO, March 31 (FENA) - The Main Board of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) today rejected the invitation of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) for a joint participation in power at the state level, but, as they stated, they will "remain open for talks on all the important issues for Republika Srpska."
"At this moment, we are not interested in any executive positions in state power," said SDS President Vukota Govedarica.
The refusal to participate in the Council of Ministers of BiH is a unanimous decision of the Main Board, which believes that SDS should be an opposition to the parties such as SNSD, SDA and HDZ BiH.
"We believe that this is in the best interest of both SDS and RS at the moment," Govedarica said at a press conference in East Sarajevo.
The SDS considers the ruling of the Constitutional Court of BiH on the "Day of RS", putting once again the entity law on the celebration of this date out of force, to be a political one, and stated that it is necessary for RS to find a solution which would ensure that RS does not give up on January 9 as the "Day of RS".
