SARAJEVO, April 5 (FENA) - The BiH Prosecutor's Office issued an order to conduct an investigation against BiH Minister of Security Dragan Mektić in connection with the affair linked to members of the Salafi movement and their supposed recruitment by the Croatian Intelligence Agency.
The public will be informed about the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH after the information of 3 April, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH informs the public that it has issued an order to conduct an investigation against Minister Mektić, the Prosecutor's Office said.
The order to carry out the investigation has been made after the prosecution has gathered more evidence on the case and in connection to the existence of the basis for suspicion of committed criminal offenses - abuse of office or powers, disclosure of classified information, and giving false testimony.
“Namely, from the evidence gathered so far, the basis of the suspicion arises that Mektić, as the responsible person, the Minister of Security in the Council of Ministers of BiH, obtained certain confidential information, and then in different ways, although he knew that he was obliged to keep information classified, shared them with persons who do not have the authority to access classified information, and then misinformed the public, and ultimately gave false testimony in the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, which caused severe consequences for the safety, the rule of law and the reputation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” it is said in the statement.
