SARAJEVO, April 21 (FENA) - The Easter Mass was held today at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Sarajevo, led by Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić.
"As much as the human reason has its abilities with the development of technology, we do not value life. Life is a gift. None of us deserved this gift, God gave it to us. We do not even know how to thank for this life, and we are not even able to protect it. Not only our own life but also the other persons' lives," he stressed.
That which man creates, says the Cardinal, is often used against the man himself.
"Man has not managed to understand the value of life, but he spreads death around him. Where is the humanity heading today, what is the spirit that he wants to live by? Celebrating Easter, we want to restore man's consciousness about the dignity of life, the dignity of man, the beauty of cooperation with God's law," said Cardinal Puljić.
Cardinal Puljić congratulated Easter to all the Catholic faithful and also mentioned numerous congratulations he received from many officials around the world.
Catholics throughout the world today celebrate Easter, the largest and oldest Christian holiday celebrated in memory of Christ's resurrection, his victory over sin and death.
