Aida Obuća nominated as prime minister designate of Bosnian Podrinje Canton

GORAŽDE, April 23 (FENA) - Aida Obuća has been nominated to the position of future Prime Minister of the Bosnian Podrinje Canton - Goražde, the Party of Democratic Action confirmed the nomination in a statement to FENA.

According to a recently signed agreement on the formation of executive power in BPC, the SDA, which leads the parliamentary majority, will also hold two ministerial posts.

The new parliamentary majority in BPC Gorazde consists of seven parties - SDA, NBL, DF, Party for BiH, SBB, ‘Goraždanska priča’ and A-SDA/NB.

Aida Obuća will be the first female prime minister since the establishment of the canton. She is a longtime member of the SDA, where she held a number of functions, and is a member of the Presidency of this party.

She has held the post of Chairperson of the Goražde Municipal Council and the Chair of the BPC Assembly. In the general elections in October 2018, she was the leader of the candidates’ list of the SDA for this canton.
