SJENICA, May 13 (FENA) - Member of the BiH Presidency Šefik Džaferović, who visited Novi Pazar and Sjenica past weekend, said the intention is for Bosniaks who live in BiH and Serbia to continue cooperation and use mechanisms to deepen that cooperation.
After meeting with management of Sjenica municipality, Džaferović said he is familiar with political and economic situation in this municipality.
"Our cooperation and assistance to Bosniaks from Sandžak can be within national institutions, but also through cooperation between the two states," explained Džaferović, stating it is possible to find ways and room to improve position of Bosniaks.
He added that municipalities from Sandžak region should directly cooperate with local self-governance units in BiH, which is a way to enhance cooperation, adding he expects specific steps to be taken in this area in the upcoming period.
President of Sjenica municipality Hazbo Mujović thanked Džaferović for his visit, emphasizing there were many suggestions and advice at the meeting, noting that Džaferović's visit to Sandžak municipalities is very important.
During the meeting they talked about economic and cultural cooperation, but also all areas that could improve life of citizens of this region.
Džaferović paid visit to Sandžak on the occasion of the national holiday of Bosniaks – Day of Bosniak National Flag and visited Novi Pazar and Sjenica municipalities.
Bosniak National Flag Day is the biggest holiday of Bosniaks in the Republic of Serbia. It was established on 11th May 1991 when Bosniak National Council of Sandžak was formed in Novi Pazar.
