The cities of Sarajevo and Budapest vow to strengthen their cooperation

SARAJEVO, May 13 (FENA) - The mayors of Sarajevo and Budapest, Abdulah Skaka and István Tarlós, today in Budapest discussed the cooperation between two twin cities that share a rich common history, and are committed to strengthening relations and opportunities for concrete cooperation on current and future projects for the benefit of their citizens.

“Budapest, as our twin town, offered its experience in the use of EU funds for development projects, which is one of the priorities of this city administration and we have already achieved good results in this field,” said Skaka.

The two mayors also talked about the cleaning and regulation of the Miljacka River basin, which is a part of the Danube Basin, and the projects of illumination of cultural and historical buildings, especially those from the Austro-Hungarian period in Sarajevo,

Sarajevo will continue to with expansion of its international relations, strengthening the position and presence in European metropolises, and this will contribute not only to spreading of positive and accurate information about Sarajevo and BiH, but also directly to the development of the tourism industry in the city, stated the Sarajevo City Administration.
