SARAJEVO, May 29 (FENA) - Association for Modern History Sarajevo organized the third History Fest which opened in Sarajevo last night and will be held in several more BiH cities.
Aim is to discuss what the fall of the Berlin Wall and collapse of socialism in Eastern European states meant for further development of Europe, and similarities it has with situation in Yugoslavia at the time.
Historian from Belgrade Ljubinka Trgovčević emphasized at the solemn opening ceremony at the Bosniak Institute in Sarajevo last night the importance of the gathering and participation of young people from various parts of Europe.
She finds it is especially important to talk about the state that used to exist in Sarajevo.
"We are aware that this state is gone, but we should try and be good neighbors and respect each other. We understand each other, we have the same mentality, same habits," said Trgovčević, who was born in Sarajevo.
Slogan of the 'History Fest' is 'Learning from History', and it will be held in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Konjic and Mostar until June 2.
