SARAJEVO, June 7 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency Member Željko Komšić has requested an extraordinary session of the BiH Presidency over an alarming security situation in Bihać.
"The events and behavior of migrants in the Una-Sana Canton area have become a problem that can no longer be ignored. I will remind the public that these are persons who have illegally entered the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and who now directly carry out their activities against the state and safety of our citizens, with the possibility of the situation escalating to extreme proportions," Komšić told FENA.
As citizens of the Una-Sana Canton have sought the reaction of state institutions, Komšić says he is obliged to urge the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to hold an emergency session and, in accordance with Article 41 of the Law on the Council of Ministers, to hold their extraordinary session on the issue of the problems with migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to put at disposal all the capacities to the Ministry of Security and the Ministry of Defense.
"This state of affairs with migrants has become unbearable. Bihać is turning into a tragedy, and therefore I am seeking for adequate decisions, and one of them is the deployment of the BiH Armed Forces in order to protect the borders of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also the use of all other capacities in order to finally tackle this behavior of migrants in an adequate manner. Also, it is very important that the competent police bodies do everything in their power and cut off all the criminal networks that take part in the import of illegal migrants into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Citizens of Bihać expect our help and they do not deserve to be left to themselves," Komšić stressed.
