BIHAĆ, June 14 (FENA) - Three police officers sustained minor injuries today when conducted a search of private accommodation in which a group of migrants stayed, who in recent days participated in several incidents.

“When entering a private facility in downtown Bihać, we encountered the resistance of the persons residing there and three police officers were slightly injured. Also, three migrants have been deprived of liberty and are currently being processed. This is a coordinated activity by the Cantonal Inspectorate and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton. It was a control of a private facility in which a group of 135 migrants resides, with whom we had unfortunately several incidents in the past few days,” said a spokesman for the USC MoI Ale Šiljdedić.

He confirmed that the operation was preceded by yesterday's incident with a group of migrants from the same facility, who prevented the police officers from doing their job.

“After late last night the police was informed that one person was behaving inappropriately in downtown BIha, and that he was probably under the influence of alcohol, a group of migrants from this facility tried to prevent police officers from processing this problematic person by throwing various objects at them. Upon intervention of additional police forces, the situation was put under control, and six foreign nationals were deprived of liberty,” added Šiljdedić.

He pointed out that all migrants and refugees who are illegally staying in private accommodation or on public areas will soon be relocated to the location of Vučjak, where the final preparations are ongoing, i.e., raising tents, and the provision of water and other necessities for the reception and accommodation of larger groups of people.
