Construction of first section of Corridor 5C begin in RS

DOBOJ, June 17 (FENA) - Construction of first kilometers of Corridor 5C through territory of Republika Srpska (RS) started in settlement Tovira near Doboj today.

This is the first stage of Johovac (Tovira) - Rudanka (Kostajnica) section, 5.65 kilometers long, worth 70 million euros, which will be financed by loan of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and grant of the Western Balkans Investment Framework.

President of RS Željka Cvijanović is certain that goal of building network of motorways in RS will be achieved, whereas Minister of Transport and Communications Nedjo Trninić added the goal is to build around 420 kilometers by 2030.

Entity Prime Minister Radovan Višković said it is important to the Government that public investments continue, which enable employment and increase of GDP.

He announced that the RS National Assembly will hold a special session in the next 20 days to adopt a plan for construction of motorway to Rača and border with Serbia.

He emphasized a gas line will be built along this section.

Motorway on Corridor 5 C through RS, 46.6 kilometers long, will be built in four stages, and value of the entire project from Doboj to Vukosavlje is assessed to 500 million euros.
